Since 1958, the Institut des Hautes Études des Communications Sociales (IHECS) has been organising master degrees in the field of journalism and communication by articulating media theory and practice. We are part of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), an organisation that provide 45.00 students with a meaningful education. Our department provides the weblectures for students. We also run a studio (New Media Services) in which we record knowledge clips for teachers and support livestream webinars.

HOGENT – University of Applied Sciences and Arts

HOGENT is the largest University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Flanders offering a wide range of programmes at eight campuses across the cities of Ghent and Aalst, in the Flemish part of Belgium. The ILT team (Innovation and Learning Technology) helps and inspires educators to implement e-learning and technology enhanced learning. It mainly aims at activating didactic teaching methods, multimedia and blended learning.

Bochum University of Applied Sciences is a public university in Germany with around 9,000 students, specialising in engineering, business, and health sciences, with a strong focus on applied research and innovation in areas such as digital transformation and AI. Within the university, the DigiTeach-Institute (Institute for Digital Transformation and E-Learning) serves as a central unit for advancing digital teaching and learning. It supports lecturers in designing and improving courses using digital technologies, develops innovative teaching concepts, and conducts research on digital education and AI in higher education. The institute provides training, consulting, media production, and support for digital assessments, and actively explores the use of emerging technologies such as generative AI to enhance teaching and learning practices.

HETMA provides a platform for collaboration, professional development, and industry engagement through initiatives such as advisory boards, training programmes, scholarships, events, and community-driven resources.

Heriot-Watt University

The Digital Education Team work alongside faculty to deliver fully online, higher education courses. The digital media producers collaborate with subject experts to identify where media is best utilised within the context of the learner journey, with a focus on creating tutor presence, and building in sustainable media practices at each stage of production. Beyond creating course content, media with a broader scope is produced, and interests lie in research and innovation that opens up new approaches to the use and application of media within (online and face-to-face) learning environments.

Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center S.A.-Creative Greece

Creative Hub GR is the new Hub for Innovation and Technology of the Creative and Audiovisual Sector by the Hellenic Centre for Film, Audiovisual Media and Creation – Creative Greece. The operational objective of the Hub is the development, strengthening, promotion and protection of the audiovisual, cultural and creative sector of Greece and its creators with emphasis on new technologies, innovation and education. The Audiovisual, Media Literacy and Social Action Department of the Hub develops and manages audiovisual education, creative literacy and media literacy programmes in both formal and non-formal education for the development of a critical and informed Media and Information Literacy citizenry. To this end, it organises a range of actions for schools and lifelong learning: school workshops, student competitions, production of Open Educational Resources, design of audiovisual, film and digital literacy programmes, etc. In the same context, it is the national delegate to the EU on media literacy and cooperates with national and global key stakeholders such as UNESCO, the UN, the Council of Europe and OSCE for a strong global media policy agenda. The Department has been coordinating the Euro-Mediterranean Chapter of UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance since 2018, with 55 members-institutions from 11 Mediterranean countries. Currently, the Department is working on the Blueprint on Media and Creative Literacy in Education.
